Founder's Bio

Pastor Bob was born in York, PA, in March of 1969. He was raised in a Christian home but by 1983 he had both feet firmly planted on the path of destruction. He continued in that direction for two decades. During that time he became shackled with the chains of addiction. Chronic alcoholism and drug abuse fueled his every-increasing level of anger and hatred. He spent four years in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge in 1992. His military experience only served to further harden his exterior and increase his level of addiction. He spent most of his young adult life as a bricklayer and a drunk. Loss of relationships, finances, and entangled with the judicial system became commonplace in his life. In 2002 under tremendous conviction of the Holy Spirit, he gave his life to Christ. He received an instantaneous deliverance from his addictions and in 2003 received a calling to ministry caring for the homeless and downtrodden. In the years following God continued to speak concisely as to His plans and purpose for this ministry, to include the name that God called Rock of Hope, a ministry of hope built upon the rock. A ministry that will not only minister the written word of God but abundantly administer the love of Jesus.

Statement of Faith

The Scriptures

The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God's revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter. Therefore, all Scripture is totally true and trustworthy. It reveals the principles by which God judges us, and therefore is, and will remain to the end of the world, the true center of Christian union, and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and religious opinions should be tried. All Scripture is a testimony to Christ, who is Himself the focus of divine revelation. (2 Peter 1:19-21)

The Trinity

The eternal triune God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being. (1 John 5:7)

The Father

God as Father reigns with providential care over His universe, His creatures, and the flow of the stream of human history according to the purposes of His grace. He is all powerful, all knowing, all loving, and all wise. God is Father in truth to those who become children of God through faith in Jesus Christ. (Galatians 4:6)

The Son

Christ is the eternal Son of God. In His incarnation as Jesus Christ He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. Jesus perfectly revealed and did the will of God, taking upon Himself human nature with its demands and necessities and identifying Himself completely with mankind yet without sin. He honored the divine law by His personal obedience, and in His substitutionary death on the cross He made provision for the redemption of men from sin. He was raised from the dead with a glorified body and appeared to His disciples as the person who was with them before His crucifixion. He ascended into heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God where He is the One Mediator, fully God, fully man, in whose Person is effected the reconciliation between God and man. He will return in power and glory to judge the world and to consummate His redemptive mission. He now dwells in all believers as the living and ever present Lord. (1 Corinthians 1:30)

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God, fully divine. He inspired holy men of old to write the Scriptures. Through illumination He enables men to understand truth. He exalts Christ. He convicts men of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. He calls men to the Savior, and effects regeneration. At the moment of regeneration He baptizes every believer into the Body of Christ. He cultivates Christian character, comforts believers, and bestows the spiritual gifts by which they serve God through His church. He seals the believer unto the day of final redemption. His presence in the Christian is the guarantee that God will bring the believer into the fullness of the stature of Christ. He enlightens and empowers the believer and the church in worship, evangelism, and service. (1 John 4:13)

Repentance is a genuine turning from sin toward God. Faith is the acceptance of Jesus Christ and commitment of the entire personality to Him as Lord and Savior. (Mark 1:15)

Salvation involves the redemption of the whole man, and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer. In its broadest sense salvation includes regeneration, justification, sanctification, and glorification. There is no salvation apart from personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord. (John 3:16; Acts 2:21, 4:12; Romans 3:23-25)

Regeneration, or the new birth, is a work of God's grace whereby believers become new creatures in Christ Jesus. It is a change of heart wrought by the Holy Spirit through conviction of sin, to which the sinner responds in repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Repentance and faith are inseparable experiences of grace. (2 Corinthians 5:17; Titus 2:11-14)

Our Mission

Rock of Hope is a Christian ministry. We are committed to serving God by helping those in need. It is our mission to minister the written Word of God and to administer the love of Jesus to all who are hurting and in need. We believe that God desperately wants to establish a relationship with everyone. We further believe that God wants us to enter into this relationship through the blood of His son, Jesus Christ.

It is the mission of this ministry to use the monetary and material resources provided as an offering of love, to open doors, and build relationships. No matter who you are, no matter where you are, God loves you and cares about what you're going through. He cares about your joys and sorrows, your victories and failures. He loves us in spite of us because He created us. God has provided us with a way to walk through this world free from the control of sin. He has given us a way to escape our past and to choose our future. He has already provided the payment for our past and the forgiveness for our future. He gives faith to the unfaithful, hope to the hopeless, and love to the unloved. He will exchange His joy for our sorrow, His victory for our defeat, His life for our death, and His blood for our sin. His name is Jesus Christ. He bought our past and secured our future over 2,000 years ago on a cross at Calvary. The payment was made, the debt was paid. We need only to accept His free gift of salvation.

We at Rock of Hope Ministries have committed our lives to serving God. We believe that everyone deserves the gift of salvation. Therefore it is our life's work to enter into this world's darkest areas and lead into the light anyone and everyone who is willing to follow. We understand that we can absolutely, positively save no one. But there is one who can save everyone. His name is Jesus. If you are willing to take one step of faith, one step out of darkness and into the light, Rock of Hope Ministries will be there to help you take that step.
